Hydrogen Enters the Workshop: Training for Real-World Application

Hydrogen technologies are steadily moving from research environments into workshops, fleets and vocational training. The Yverdon training course showed how this transition can be supported through hands-on education.

Participants experienced fuel cell and electrolysis systems in operation and discussed what these technologies mean for maintenance, diagnostics and future skills in the automotive and mobility sectors. The course brought together academic insight, applied engineering and vocational training perspectives — creating a valuable bridge between theory and daily practice.

This prototype training was part of a joint Work Package by PLANET Engineering, Future.Solutions, Deutsche WindGuard and the University of Groningen, supported through the HYACADEMY and Interreg Green SKHyinitiatives.

The video shared here reflects the participant perspective and highlights how practical hydrogen training resonates with those preparing the next generation of technicians and trainers.
